Give any one of these answers at your interview.

The U.S. Constitution has twenty-seven (27) amendments.

What it means

Since 1787, the Constitution has been changed 27 times. The first 10 amendments are the Bill of Rights (1791). The most recent, the 27th Amendment, was ratified in 1992 and concerns pay raises for members of Congress.

Other well-known amendments ended slavery (13th), guaranteed equal protection under the law (14th) and gave women the right to vote (19th).

This is a 65/20 question, so it appears on the shorter starred list for qualifying older applicants.

Memory tip: 27 = 10 in the Bill of Rights + 17 added later.
